The “high water” season follows after inflow from rains in Angola and Zambia. The water rises and flows more rapidly creating whirlpools in the first section of the normal low water run and the day trips move downstream from rapids 11 to 24 covering a distance of approximately 18km. February to July will mark the high water season. Occasionally the river will close for OFF season around April/May though this is totally depended on the rain pattern and river levels for that specific year.
